Super good spot, shade for most of the day from a big banner/billboard over the road. Heaps of room for cars to pull in. I think it’s better than what is suggested on hitch wiki.Had to fend off a few taxi but got a lift direct to Battambang

This spots a bit tricky depending on the time of day. Unfortunately most of the day it’s Vietnamese trucks which don’t go to Phnom Penh (if you’re going that way). It’s best to move a bit back from the Cambodian side of the boarder. Only maybe 100m and you’ll see that all the cars that drop people at the boarder chuck a u-ie and then come past you. Most will ask for money but with a Phnom Penh sign I got a free lift in ~30 mins (30 mins waiting at the boarder in the wrong spot)―Anonymous

Easy to head east/north east from here, easy access from city center with bus 6. Lots of vans will stop and ask for money but some will take you for free. Got a direct ride to Kampong Cham in 5min in a local van.―Manero

Get a moto taxi ($2 good price) to highways' intersection and walk a little bit further on this road. All the cars goes to Sihanoukville. Pretty easy.―Anonymous

A place where Phnom Penh suburbs finishes. Take a moto taxi from Phnom Penh, it should be not more than $2 from Canadian Bank. There is a big factory on the right. Wave a lot till someone stops. ;)―Anonymous

There are huge trees at the roadside that provide shade. You will see one but you might have to walk there for 100 meters because apparently they are removed sometimes. A sign for Bavet helps if you want to get to the vietnamese border. A lot of trucks come by here, they are your best chance.―Anonymous

Long road with no turns and space for cars to stop, easy to hitch to the south. Found direct ride to Phnom-Penh in less than 10min. Few vans will stop and ask for money, makes it a safety if you need to reach your destination absolutely―Anonymous

Take bus number 6 from Old Stadium Roundabout and get off at the turn to Win Win Boulevard. There is a gas station, also you can move a bit further to find a spot. Traffic is quite messy. Many tuk-tuks and minivan taxis. Most drivers will expect a payment, so tell them about your intentions beforehand.―otv3n
